High-Tech Swimwear
Today, the swimwear industry also stands at the forefront of a new technical advance in swimwear fabrications with innovations that include the Tan Thru Suit by Solar Tan Thru that has evolved over the past 11 years to its present patent-pending status. What is noteworthy is that the material boasts many technical improvements beyond the tan-thru characteristics of the fabric. Of these, the multifaceted textile allows water to evaporate through the pores of the fabric causing the suit to dry in half the time of a regular suit.
The popularity of the new Solar Tan Thru patent-pending fabric, and suit itself, is something of a new-age phenomenon that has caused many retailers and direct marketers to take notice.
As everyone knows, consumers constantly are seeking out products that offer something special or make their life better. Technically improved suits such as the Solar Tan Thru suit initially may be perceived as a product designed for young trendsetters, but surveys have shown that there is a wide age range of consumers that are drawn to the innovative garment.
According to Solar Tan Thru, testimonial letters regularly come in from male and female consumers in the 20 to 50 age range. Many of the women write in thanking the company for offering a one-piece suit that provides them with an all-over tan. Due to child birth or surgery many women welcome a product that allows them the opportunity to tan while concealing potentially self-conscious human imperfections.
High-Function Swimwear
Dale Sanders, president of Solar Tan Thru, also indicates that the company has received a tremendous response from water sports-oriented stores. "One of the byproducts of the hybrid fabric is the fact that the suit lends itself to high-function water sports such as skiing, scuba diving, windsurfing and many others. The high 30-percent lycra content of the Solar Tan Thru suit results in ease of movement" he explains. This is an important aspect to remember when buyers are considering product for their specialty stores. Specialty retailers must always be aware that customers frequent their business because they can offer unique and different items over their larger rivals.
A model recently noted that the fabric of the Solar Tan Thrusuit was so comfortable that it allowed her skin to breathe. This may sound overly simplistic, but apparently this also has been an important consideration for an aerobics line that touts that its leotards have technical fibers that inhibit bacteria. In essence, this is what the model was alluding to. According to Sanders, the Solar Tan Thru suit will not trap perspiration under the fabric, therefore it will not nurture microbiotic growth. This is a common problem for many women wearing synthetic spandex or nylon suits.
