A buyer from Swim Mart in Sarasota comments that it carriers more than 40 name-brand swimsuits in the store and that on a scale of one to 10 she rates the Solar Tan Thru suits sales a nine and returns - for any reason - a zero. "Once they have it on, she says, the suit almost always sells."
Presently, the new 1996 Solar Tan Thru collection features more than 20 one-piece suits (which are the company's best sellers), as well as a dozen bikini body styles. The men's collection is also popular with styles ranging from skimpy half-inch briefs to racers, classic cuts and bike shorts. Women's sizes tend to range from 5/6, into larger missy sizes up to size 18 on some styles. Body style categories range from junior, sport, contemporary, missy, and a metallic overprint designer group.
Solar Tan Thru also offers a merchandising demonstration display for its suits on a modified backlit form hanger. Additionally, merchandising tools such as demonstration and technical posters also are available to present the product in various retail environments.
